Expectations have been high on the slated resumption date and the schedule of 2016/2017 academic session, as students are yet to feel the signs of resumption.
Confirming the initial schedule for the kick off of 2016/2017 academic session, NANISS president IBBUL chapter Yanni Mohammad displayed his chatting skills via a screenshot he broadcasted on WhatsApp earlier today where he conversed with the Dean students affairs Dr. Aliyu Ma'ali
on the expected date of resumption. The Dean has this to say "17/10/16 is not feasible because results are not ready yet. Senate is scheduled for next week and the new date will be communicated to members"
Reacting to this statement by students, Abdullahi Adamu a student of Biochemistry who really haven't believe what he is hearing expressed his dismay saying "However, I was online earlier on and a screen scrab of the chat between the Dean, Student Affairs, Dr Maili and NANIS President Yanni was broadcasted. If what the Dean actually replied Yanni is the voice of IBBUL management, then they have shown us that they cannot stand by what they represent. For, the last Academics calender shows that we will be resuming on the 17th of October. Thus, I think if they want to gain the confidence of the students, they need to maintain a good managerial decision"
Also, Zubairu Simbiyat department of sociology expressed satisfaction with the break extension, saying "it is better that way for me". Although some students wished the break can be extended till next year but this wouldn't be possible because of the new intake.
It should also be noted that in next week's Senate meeting, results consideration will take place which by implication, some departments will paste result by next week. Information reaching us is that admission committee will likely sit on Saturday to process the batch B admission list and also that of the direct entry DE. So most likely, Batch B IBB University admission list will be released next week.
As we await the announcement of the new date for the session to begin, IBBUL Campus Gist was tipped that the new date will likely be 31st of October.
